Awwwww...

Offspring #1 begged to be allowed to stay up late so he could watch the "limpics" AKA the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Knowing how very tired he is but also aware of how special something like this is, especially to a 6-year-old, I reluctantly agreed. We snuggled on the couch for a while, talking about what we were watching, and then I wandered off to tidy up the kitchen. We were still chatting and he was asking a bunch of questions, exclaiming over the fireworks and telling me that the whole thing was, "unbelievable!".

I had to run out the shed to ask Hubby a quick question and when I came back in the house (all of two minutes later) I glanced over at the couch and thought he seemed to be lying in an odd position. I figured I'd better check on him...

He lasted an hour. Not bad for the end of a long and tiring week :)

I think he probably saw the most impressive part...parade of nations, not so much! My favorite was the part where they did the waves and then the wall and then the flowers...all with people doing it! WOW!

Awww....Opening ceremony was fabulous... If Monet was allowed to stay up to watch she would have seen the lighting of the flame. True.

We got to see the parade of nations repeated the next morning, Claire. We cheered super loud for Australia (and Jamiaca, don't ask! LOL)

Hi Sam!

You know, we didn't see the lighting of the flame either time Melody. Oh well :)
