The Birthday Party

Offspring #2 had her birthday party this afternoon. We had some little friends from playgroup and creche, along with their families, over for lots of yummy food, some games, face painting and lots of fun in the backyard. Everyone had a great time, all the kids played beautifully, the food was great - a little too much but not crazily so - and the birthday cake was a big hit. Added to that, I worked REALLY hard at not stressing over every little detail and at not being totally insane about the whole thing and Hubby was most impressed by those efforts!

So... some pics of the whole thing. We borrowed a camera for the day and it takes the most gorgeous photos. Now I want one just like it.

The birthday girl and her Red Dirt Mummy.

The party area, as created by a very clever Red Dirt Daddy.

A beautiful shot of mass bubble blowing.

The birthday cake - another cupcake birthday cake, but this one had some fancy icing and pretty sparkly bits.

And singing Happy Birthday. You can see how impressed #2 is by the whole thing. I also love #1's "Blues Brothers" impersonation!

Look like fun! I love the cupcake cake. What wonderful pictures. I love your haircut...don't know if it's new or what you normally have, but it's super cute on you!

This is so weird. I just always pictured you as--well, bigger. You are so petite and cute. Your children are beautiful and the cake was so cute. Jancd

Wonderful pics! Happy Birthday #2!!

My comment is how does the Red Dirt Mummy stay so thin with all the good cooking she does? What's your secret?

Too funny Melody - we had to go back and look at the photo and then we had a good giggle!

Thankyou Claire. The haircut is sort of what I normally have and sort of growing out - I think it was just a good hair day ;)

LOL Jan and thankyou. I'm so glad I could be 'not' what you'd imagined!

Hi Mary - my secret is to eat a little bit myself and make everyone else eat the rest LOL. Of course, running around after the kids does help too.
